Agent Notes

• Only use a new York agent (there is dissension on this, but it is still standard)
• The best way to find an agent (or publisher, for that matter) is through one-on-one meetings at writers' workshops and conferences
• Never pay a reading fee
• An agent will automatically be offered a higher advance for you than you would be offered on your own
